This is a research and write-up quest that is aimed at finding a particle suitable for optical trapping, but still “cureable” for use as a 3D printing material (heat, UV exposure, etc…). The quest will include first researching the qualities that make a particle desirable for optical traps. These include factors like, shape, size, reflectivity/absorption of light, weight, and more. Some starting material to read will be provided, but it will be expected that additional scientific articles will be found and additional information drawn from those sources as well.

Once base qualities are determined, a solid or liquid particle that can be cured must be found that meets as many of the found qualities as possible. This curing could take place through heat or UV light exposure, although other methods are acceptable if reasons can be found to support them. No final decisions needs to be made as the best material to use, as multiple suggestions will be welcome to test inside the rig.
