11/18/16 I diced the wafer Dr. Smalley and I have been working on. Started prepping samples.

11/04/16 Problem: 1. Wirebonder has a hard time connecting to NiCr directly and when it does it appears there is no electrical connection. Attempted solution: wire glue, an adhesive conductor that should be able to connect wirebonds to NiCr. Initial testing suggested it would work, but this turned out to be a short that caused two of the wirebonds to fuse together. After removing these wirebonds and adding more wire glue I could still get no connection.

10/28/16 SiO2 and NiCr layers look nicer than they ever have. I will finish polishing, wirebonding and testing today.

10/21/16: Still working on device, transducers went through. Also upgraded DPE to two inserts.

10/14/2016: Working with new design which should greatly simplify fabrication for EO section. Ran into some old problems with AO section. Plan: move transducers closer together, run better dose tests.

10/6/2016: New protocol for keeping track of and reporting research. Direct NiCr tests not able to finish to optical testing completion, but new strategy yields resistances from approximately 75-130 Ohms depending on connection location. Takeaway: This strategy will work. Move to making a full device.
